Arsenal transfer news: Ben White medically scheduled

Ben White is expected to undergo a doctor on Wednesday before moving £ 50m to Arsenal.

White enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League last time, in all but Brighton’s games and helped them record a solid defensive record. He was also a late call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020, although he did not make any appearances in the tournament.

An agreement on his transfer was reached between the two clubs some time ago. Arsenal’s first offers of £ 40m and £ 47m were rejected before a bid of £ 50m was accepted. According to Sky Sports, White will undergo medical treatment on Wednesday with an announcement imminent.

It was previously reported that White would have his medical checks over the weekend, but it seems that it was wide.

Brighton have made sure to include a sales clause in the deal, so they will benefit from future sales of the young star.

He will be the third signing of the transfer window for Mikel Arteta with Arsenal already looking for midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and left-back Nuno Tavares. As reported by 90 Minutes back in June, Arteta will continue to receive strong support this summer with the club earmarking a budget of around £ 250 million.

After White’s arrival, there is still plenty of money to play with. One of the club’s most important goals is Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. They have already received two rejections at Ramsdale – which has been relocated twice in two seasons – but are considering a third offer in the region of £ 25 million.

Attacking the midfielder is a position they also want to strengthen. Arteta’s main target is Leicester City’s James Maddison. However, this deal can prove tricky when the foxes endure at least 60 million pounds.

If Maddison can not be tempted to agitate for a move, Arsenal can go after Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard. He was loaned out at the Emirates Stadium during the second half of last season and remains somewhat down in the Spanish capital.
