Go and tell prosecutor Adou Richard that “a dead person is a dead person” is the message launched by one of Yodé and Siro’s halves on Sunday in the city of Yopougon during a concert at a boarding school, cultural space considered the Zouglou Temple. With these words referring to lost lives in violence For the past three months, the famous Ivorian group has suggested that the prosecutor prefer to focus on investigations against opposition activists and alleged perpetrators of these murders.

After the concert, the artists publicly reveal that they received a summons from the gendarmerie’s search group who questioned them for several hours on Wednesday before they were detained. They were then presented to prosecutor Richard Adou this morning.

The call to the duetists in Zouglou, known for their dedicated lyrics, immediately provoked the opposition’s political class, including its leader, PDCI president Henri Konan Bédié, who showed his support for the group. A few months ago, the two musicians released their new album in which the ruling party was indexed and was already controversial on the Ivorian stage.

This custody comes when the country goes through a new political crisis following the re-election of President Alassane Ouattara’s third term on October 31, 2020.
