Ten years ago today, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights published his mapping report, a text on the most serious crimes committed in the DRC between 1993 and 2003 and especially during the two wars. of Congo.

The village of Tingi Tingi, in the province of Maniema, is one of the places where some of these crimes took place: in March 1997, AFDL fighters, Alliance des forces democratiques pour la liberation du Congo – and RPA – the Rwandan patriotic army – killed Rwandans Hutu refugees there. These refugees were gathered in one of the largest places reserved for them at that time. Children, old people, the sick were among the victims.
