Real Madrid are determined to sell Isco this summer before leaving the club for free in 2022.

Isco has been a player at the Santiago Bernabeu for a few years now, but now that the 29-year-old has entered the last 12 months of his contract, his future at the club is more exposed than ever.

According to AS, there are absolutely no plans to sign Isco for an extension. Real want to cut their salary and they are not interested in keeping the Spaniard any longer, while club officials are actively looking for a club to receive him now.

Madrid have made it clear to Isco that he has no future at the Bernabeu and he will be sold if a club meets their request of around £ 15 million.

It is believed that Isco has mixed feelings about it all. He has been rejuvenated by Zinedine Zidane’s departure and hopes that Carlo Ancelotti will give him a fair shot in regular minutes, but is also well aware of where he stands at the club.

He dreams of returning to Spain’s squad in time for the 2022 World Cup and has accepted that it is unlikely he will play enough for Real to do so.

However, he is not prepared to push for an exit. Isco is happy in Madrid and is really optimistic about his chances under Ancelotti, who was a big fan of the midfielder during his first spell at the Bernabeu.

It is understood that the manager has spoken to Isco about the situation and has made it clear that he will be a useful part of the squad if he stops staying, but there is an acceptance that consistent minutes can be a step too far.

As for potential suitors, Napoli are interested but are believed to be anxious to wait until they can land the player on a free transfer next year.
