Cristiano Ronaldo asks to be benched by Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo requested not to start Juventus’ meeting with Udinese on Sunday as he hopes to find a move from the club in the near future.

The 36-year-old has been worried in Turin for a while now and has considered his options, although Juventus have always been adamant that Ronaldo will not leave the club.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri recently did his best to try to put rumors to good use, but here we are, 24 hours later, and they are stronger than ever.

Ronaldo was surprisingly named on the bench for the Udinese game, and after the decision was final, Fabrizio Romano revealed that it was Ronaldo himself who did not want to play.

The Portuguese international specifically requested not to start the game as he hopes to be able to construct a move from the club before the transfer window closes.

So far, Juventus have not received any official offers for Ronaldo and they are still anxious to keep him, but this decision indicates that they can fight uphill.

As for the suitor, Carlo Ancelotti recently confirmed that Real Madrid are not interested, while Paris Saint-Germain can not afford him after buying Lionel Messi.

It leaves former employers Manchester United, who are in no hurry to take back Ronaldo, and the cities Manchester City as the only remaining suitors.

Ronaldo, who was left out of the last pre-season as friendly due to “fitness issues”, has one year left on his contract and does not intend to see it.

Juventus will not sell him easily, but with the latest developments, this is really one to keep an eye on for the next two weeks.
