President of Hiiraan State Holds al-Shabab Responsible for Instigating Inter-Clan Conflict

In Beledweyne (AX), the President of Hiiraan State and Chief of the Public Defense Forces, Ali Jeyte Osman, has pointed fingers at al-Shabab militants for provoking the recent inter-clan skirmishes along the Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions.

Osman, part of the federal government delegation working to resolve the conflict, emphasized that the militias of the neighboring communities have a common adversary, specifically al-Shabab.

“I appeal to the youth to let me join the battle against the Khawarij. We need to stand together in this fight,” urged Ali Jeyte Osman.

The clashes erupted between the Hawadle and Abgal clan militias in the Moqokori and Aden Yabal districts.

“I’m puzzled by why these two clans are in conflict. When we converse with each of you, both groups claim no animosity towards their brethren. So, who’s egging on this war?” queried leader Jeyte,” Osman pondered.

Recent clan tensions have mainly centered on the Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle border, particularly in Jalalaqsi, Moqokori, Mahaday, and Aden Yabal districts.
