Tuchel laments Bayern’s downfall at the hands of Real Madrid’s ruthless effectiveness

Thomas Tuchel lamented Bayern Munich’s missed opportunity to secure a third goal after their semi-final first leg clash with Real Madrid ended in a draw. The German coach expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defeat the opposition in the return leg next week.

The Bavarians scored two goals in quick succession in the second half, courtesy of Leroy Sane’s strike and a penalty from Harry Kane, overturning Vinicius Junior’s opener for Madrid.

Vinicius leveled the score with an 83rd-minute penalty as Bayern pressed for another goal. Despite feeling poised for a win, Bayern will head to Madrid for the second leg with the tie level.

Tuchel, departing Bayern after a disappointing season, acknowledged Real’s clinical finishing. Reflecting on the match, he noted Bayern’s strong start and missed scoring opportunities.

Bayern must secure a victory in Madrid to progress to the final at Wembley, where Real seeks their 15th European Cup. In the other semi-final, Borussia Dortmund faces Paris Saint-Germain, with the first leg scheduled for Wednesday.
