Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio closes in on a summer transfer to Roma, where he will join compatriot and new Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.
The expected transfer will say goodbye to Molineux three years after arriving in England after a controversial exit from the first club Sporting CP 2018.

Patricio has only missed two Premier League matches since joining Wolves, which helped the club reach seventh place in a row in 2018/19 and 2019/20. But with only one year left on his contract, there is an opportunity to raise decent money for the 33-year-old.

Patricio, who has 97 senior matches for Portugal and won the European Championship 2016 with his country, will replace Pau Lopez as Roma number one. Lopez, who was briefly loaned to Spurs earlier in his career, moves to Marseille, where veteran club captain Steve Mandanda recently turned 36 years old.
Wolves officials have already informed new coach Bruno Lage that some of the club’s most acquired and most valuable assets will need to be sold this summer if there are to be sufficient funds for sufficient reinvestment in the squad after a disappointing 12th place.
With Patricio already on the way out, Wolves will also be listening to offers for Ruben Neves, who is valued at over £ 30 million, and Adama Traore, who is still a regular target for Leeds and has been of interest to Liverpool in recent times.
