Nuno wants to complete the Traore deal
Tottenham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is keen for the club to secure the signing of Adama Traore from former Wolves club, and urges manager Fabio Paratici to complete a deal before the transfer window.
Spurs have been tentatively linked with the Spanish international throughout the summer, but will increase their quest for the winger this week.
90min understands that Traore is pushing for a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and his former head coach Nuno is hoping for a reunion in north London.
A £ 40m loan deal is expected to be agreed between Spurs and Wolves, who have been open to letting Traore go in this window amid a major Premier League interest.
Liverpool investigated a deal for the winger, but were deterred by the £ 40m price tag from Wolves. Leeds United were also interested but would not commit to a deal over £ 30 million.
Traore and Nuno had their problems last season over the edge contract, but there has never been a problem between the two personally, hence their willingness to reconnect.
Spurs beat Wolves 1-0 on Sunday when Nuno returned to Molineux, with Traore driving the Tottenham defense tough but wasting the home side’s best chances.
Chairman Daniel Levy was present, as were Paratici and Technical Performance Manager Steve Hitchen.
Dele Alli grabbed the only goal of the match from the penalty spot after being beaten early by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Harry Kane made his first appearance of the season and replaced Son Heung-min as a replacement. 90min reported last week that Manchester City have not given up on signing the England captain and will continue to push the Spurs on a deal until the transfer deadline.
