Borussia Dortmund new: Donyell Malen’s transfer completed

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Dutch forward Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven in a deal believed to be worth € 34 million, including supplements.

Malen, who scored 27 goals in all competitions last season and was selected for Euro 2020, has agreed a long-term contract with Dortmund until 2026.

Although there is not necessarily a similar replacement on the pitch, Dortmund’s investment in the 22-year-old comes shortly after he sold Jadon Sancho to Manchester United for 85 million euros.

“Borussia Dortmund is a top European club that is always at the top of the Bundesliga and also has high demands on itself in the Champions League,” Malen told BVB.de.

“I can hardly wait to be on the field with my new teammates, to be able to measure myself against the best. And of course I look forward to the fans and the arena that the whole of Europe likes, “he added.

Dortmund’s sports director Michael Zorc commented: “Donyell is a player with great offensive potential, who radiates goal risk, brings his creativity to the table and has high speed.

However, Sebastian Kehl added: “Donyell won us over with his performance at PSV. He can be used in different systems, whether it is in the front, as a lone striker or as one of two attackers, but also in wide positions. BVB fans can look forward to Donyell. ”

The agreed fee is considered to be € 30 million guaranteed, plus € 4 million in addition. Like previous clubs that have contributed to Malen’s development. Both Ajax and Arsenal are entitled to relatively nominal sales payments of € 450,000 and € 300,000 respectively.

Super agent Mino Raiola is also expected to secure a cut in the transfer fee, but it has been “much less” than the 30% figure originally rumored.
