Weah recently ended uncertainty over his political plans by announcing that he will seek the presidency again in the 2029 elections. At Thursday’s gathering, some supporters reportedly urged him to take a tougher approach—particularly toward allies they blamed for “damaging his administration”—if he returns to office.
