After 11 hours of negotiations, the conciliators were optimistic about the signing of an agreement between the government and the strikes. The latter finally strengthened their tone and announced that the negotiations had failed. Moustapha Guitteye, of the National Union of Workers of Mali, explains: “We were not satisfied with the harmonization of compensation premiums, with the payment of voluntary pensioners. In fact, in all honesty, there is no concrete proposal. “
New strikes are coming
For his part, the government confirms that the negotiations had resulted in a document validated by both parties. But at the last minute, UNTM decided not to initial it.
