M2D requires a brand new rally
The Movement for the Defense of Democracy (M2D) launched a new call for mobilization for a peaceful meeting this Saturday, March 13th. The coalition formed last week brings together opposition political parties (including Ousmane Sonko’s Pastef) and civil society movements (including the Y’en a Marre). M2D had suspended the planned demonstrations until Tuesday and Wednesday after several days of demonstrations and violence, leaving at least 5 dead, according to the official report, 11 according to the opposition.
