Bah N’Daw and Moctar Ouane’s lawyer are threatening

In Mali, former interim president Bah N’Daw and former prime minister Moctar Ouane have been under house arrest since the second coup led by the ruling military junta on May 24. They have just hired a lawyer with a very offensive strategy.

Because Colonel Assimi Goïta is “the one who gives orders”, because he is the one who gripa Bah N’Daw and Moctar Ouane, and since it is he who has the power to put an end to their house arrest, it is for him and only for him that master Mamadou Ismaila Konaté turns to. The lawyer demands from the president of the transition that he allow the former president and the former prime minister, whom he has overthrown, to regain his total freedom of movement. Otherwise, he will go on a legal offensive.

“The first legal step will be to seize the ECOWAS Court as soon as possible by highlighting the violations of these two personalities and by personally involving Colonel Goïta, the State of Mali with responsibility. I will refrain from issuing an ultimatum but I am waiting for a meeting to see it. Otherwise, I’ll send him a correspondence. The week ahead will in any case be crucial. ”

The African Union, the European Union, the United Nations, as well as many human rights organizations, are also demanding an end to the house arrest of the two former leaders.

At the request of RFI, the Malian Presidency did not want to talk about the subject.

General Souleymane Doucouré is reportedly still being held in the Kati military camp, despite promises of “gradual release” originally made by the transitional authorities.
