Hirshabelle President Convenes Security Summit to Coordinate Anti-al-Shabab Campaign

In Jowhar, Hirshabelle Regional State leader Ali Abdullahi Hussein Guudlawe met with the Minister of Security, Middle Shabelle governor, Jowhar district commissioner, and army forces to discuss reclaiming remaining areas from al-Shabab in Hirshabelle State.

The President was briefed on security operations, military strategies, and efforts to eradicate al-Shabab militants in the state.

President Guudlawe emphasized the need to boost security measures and eliminate the Khawarij, praising the importance of security as his top priority. He instructed Armed Forces officers to carry out their duties diligently.

Last year, the Somali National Army, with local support, successfully liberated key areas in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions through military operations. Unfortunately, this year, the offensive stalled due to setbacks faced by security forces during operations.
