Will soon decide on surgery

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has admitted that he will decide after Euro 2020 whether he needs shoulder surgery to heal a long-term problem that has affected his form.

Going under the knife at any time this summer, however, would probably make him miss everything that would already be a delayed and shortened pre-season and perhaps also the beginning of the new campaign while he recovers.

With England in the knockout stages of Euro 2020, Rashford will not be released from international service until the end of June at the earliest. But it could be in mid-July if they stay in the competition until the final.

Rashford indicated that he will probably refrain from deciding on any surgery until after he has had a summer break and will resume training again to assess how he feels. It could already be in August then and the Premier League campaign started starting the weekend of 14/15 August.

Still, Rashford has obviously not been the best for a while and looked completely exhausted at the end of the 2020/21 season in May. He is known for not being fully in shape for a long time and this has been shown in his performances.

“I do not think it’s a secret to be honest with you. Of course, I do not perform at my best and what I know I can perform for, ”the player is quoted by the Daily Mirror when discussing his long-term shoulder problem and fitness.

“I’m not 100 percent sure if I need it yet. I end strongly here [with England] and I have a few weeks off to just relax and then decide what to do. ”
