Banadir Regional Administration Places Hodan District Commissioner on 45-Day Suspension

Mogadishu (AX) — In a bold move, the Banadir regional administration gave the boot to Ali Fahle, the commissioner of Hodan district, and a bunch of his team for a solid 45-day timeout due to allegedly slacking off.

This shake-up came hot on the heels of an evaluation ride along, helmed by Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (known as Yabooh), the deputy commissioner for security and politics in the Banadir Region, who took a gander at how things were ticking over in the Hodan, Wabari, Howlwadag, and Hamar-Jajab districts in Mogadishu.

Yabooh wasn’t pulling punches as he pegged incompetence and wishy-washy performance as the main culprits for the suspension. Fahle and his crew have a date with some serious admin boot camp as part of their critique for dropping the ball.

And the saga doesn’t stop there—Yabooh laid down the law to folks in Wabari and Hamar-Jajab, giving them a heads-up that they’d be under the microscope for the same 45 days. Falling short could mean a one-way ticket out of a job for district employees.

Although the Banadir honchos kept mum on why they dropped the hammer, word on the street says the region’s Inspection Committee has been running around Mogadishu to keep tabs on how snappy the district operations really are.
