NAIROBI, Kenya (AX) — “A DNA analysis has shattered prior assumptions about the identity of a body dragged from Lake Yahud. Initially thought to be the missing Wajir MCA Yusuf Hussein Ahmed, it turns out it wasn’t him at all,” stated a report, which left Ahmed’s relatives and the populace bamboozled, as the hunt for the legislator drags on over a month after he vanished.

Fresh DNA tests, from Ahmed’s ma and sibliiings, have unveiled the victim’s Somali roots (yet not linked to the elusive MCA). A coroner identified its demise as a result of blunt force trauma to the face, leading to catastrophic internal hemorrhage, adding to the swirl of mysteries engulfing the man’s identity.

The corpse, gruesomely mutilated with ears and nose sheared off, shocked everyone when it surfaced in Lake Yahud—a whole month after Ahmed’s kin pleaded publicly for assistance in finding him. Due to the extreme injuries, the family initially bought into the notion it was Ahmed, only for science to later refute this belief.

Ahmed’s family is caught in emotional chaos since he vanished without a trace. September 13 in Nairobi’s South C is etched in their minds as the last sighting, as armed men snatched him away. A taxi driver, his momentary companion, shared with the fuzz that two posh SUVs cut off their ride, and then a quintet of dudes materialized. One brandished a firearm, while the others manhandled Ahmed right out of the car.

Even after judicial decrees urged Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to swiftly locate and present Ahmed, the probe’s slow creep churns the family’s feelings of both frustration and a desperate longing for clarity.
