How to watch and livestream in the US / UK

The US men’s national team will meet Qatar on Thursday at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas for a place in the 2021 Gold Cup final.

The American side will see their 12th appearance in the tournament final after reaching that stage by 2019.

Qatar, one of two invited nations, could make history if it defeated the USMNT. Underdogs for the match, the Middle East nation was recently ranked as the 53rd best team in the world by FIFA and currently holds a 12 match unbeaten streak.

The United States has not yet wow that far and cramped out of every step. However, Gregg Berhalter’s team has proven to do its best under pressure.

The USA has not yet reached its full potential so far this season, despite great efforts from MLS players Sebastian Lletget and Gianluca Busio.

Head coach Berhalter expects more from his team, hoping to give the extra pressure on Thursday to reach the final. Although the American side are favorites to win, the true key to their success will be in the midfield.

The team does not report any new injuries since their quarter-final match.

The invited nation has an impressive offensive ability, coming from the first stage of the tournament as leader of Group D after three victories in a row. The team reports no new injuries and should have a perfectly suitable squad to face the United States.

Qatar has five players who have scored in the 2021 Gold Cup, with four goals from the tournament’s leading scorer Ali. If the team can hone its offensive abilities and keep its opponent off the ball, Qatar should be able to make history.

USA: Tuner; Moore, Sands, Robinson, Vines; Lletget, Acosta, Roldan; Arriola, Dike, Hoppe.

Qatar: Barsham; Ro-Ro, Al-Rawi, Khoukhi, Hassan, Ahmed; Al Haidos, Boudiaf, Hatem; Afif, Ali.

This will be the first time the United States and Qatar meet. Qatar will stand as USMNT’s 98th international opponent of all time, and the tenth country they play against from the Asian Football Confederation.

It is very likely that the United States will score goals when preparing an offensive strategy to face Qatar, but this will not match many goals. Qatar has a defensive edge and challenges the United States as they infiltrate the attack.

Prediction: USA 2-1 Qatar
