Fee almost agreed for Varane
Manchester United are signing Raphael Varane, with a fee of € 45 million plus bonuses expected to be agreed with Real Madrid.
The French international has been linked with a sensational move to Old Trafford all summer, and it seems that this transfer story is approaching a conclusion.

Le Parisien reported late on Sunday that United and Real are close to agreeing on a fee for the defender, who is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Red Devils next week.
It has been widely reported that Varane is interested in a new challenge right now in his career, having won 17 titles with Real – including four Champions League and three La Liga titles.
Varane’s current deal expires in June 2022 and Real had offered him an extension before Euro 2020 this summer. However, it seems that his career will continue in Manchester rather than in Madrid.
The report adds that Varane has always been respectful of the situation and returned to club training on Friday and spoke with returning manager Carlo Ancelotti.
United have been interested in Varane for much of their careers, and the defender chose instead to go to the Santiago Bernabeu after leaving Lens in 2011.
Varane would be United’s second party tent to already sign this window, after completing a long-awaited deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho on Friday.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also signed a new contract that runs until 2024 when United go in search of their first cutlery since 2017. They came painfully close last season after losing 11-10 in penalties against Villarreal in the Europa League final.
However, Real Madrid will cope with the loss of Varane not long after the club’s stalwart Sergio Ramos, who has joined PSG on a free transfer.
