Doha (AX) — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud landed in Doha on Tuesday, joining international leaders paying tribute after the death of Qatar’s former emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
At Hamad International Airport, Qatar’s Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullahi bin Mohamed Al Thani and Somalia’s ambassador to Qatar, Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali, received Hassan Sheikh and his delegation.

On Monday, Hassan Sheikh directed that Somalia’s national flag be lowered to half-mast for three days in observance of the mourning.
According to a statement carried by state media, the move underscored Somalia’s solidarity with the Qatari government and people.
