Fulani – the community received by the Minister for

In Burkina Faso, the leaders of the Fulani community and several community leaders from the eastern region were received by the Minister of National Reconciliation. The delegation came to express its concerns about the security situation in the eastern region and called for an intervention by the reconciliation minister with the security forces on the spot to allow the Fulani community to live in peace with other communities.

Even if they notice a relative lull, these Fulani say they are victims of attacks by terrorist groups on the one hand and certain self-defense groups on the other.

“Things are getting better and better,” acknowledged Issouf Diallo, spokesman for the delegation, questioned by Pedestrian Boudani, our correspondent in Ouagadougou. Yet we informed the Minister that there are still some actions from certain societies or certain self-defense forces that are very similar to stigma.

This is still going on, but there is a lot of improvement, and the delegation asked the Prime Minister to get involved in letting the Fulani community live not only in peace with other communities, but also in participating in peace and building peace and social cohesion.

May all those involved in reconciliation understand and accept that there is no society that has stood up against other societies: there are bandits who have risen up against all societies and who seek to divide them.

If we already succeed in discerning, it is clear that the reconciliation will come by itself, because the communities will have understood, and together they will face the terror we experience every day in the region of Ice.
