Abgal Elders Calls for Hirshabelle President Ali Gudlawe’s Immediate Resignation

In Mogadishu, the Abgal clan’s elders have accused Hirshabelle State President Ali Gudlawe Hussein of incompetence, demanding his immediate resignation. After days of discussions, the elders pointed out the president’s failure to address the challenges facing the state.

Despite being the wealthiest state in Somalia, Hirshabelle has deteriorated under President Ali Gudlawe’s leadership, according to the elders. They insisted that he resign, stating that he is part of the problem and cannot be part of the solution. A conference will be organized to gather intellectuals, politicians, and academics to discuss rebuilding a new Hirshabelle.

Since the establishment of Hirshabelle State, there has been a power struggle between politicians from Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions. This conflict resulted in politicians from Hiiraan declaring a new state called Hiiraan State, which the federal government refused to acknowledge.
