Thousands of Muslims filled Mogadishu on Monday (August 24) to mark Mawlid al-Nabi, celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad with religious chants, devotional songs and marches across the Somali capital. As part of the commemorations, hundreds of donated camels were slaughtered to provide food for people in need.
