Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo urged the Congolese to be vigilant after the “conglomerate” bill was introduced. This text aims to introduce a condition for accession to the presidency of the republic to have a father and mother with Congolese nationality.
“I urge you to resist hate speech and initiatives that exclude and divide God’s people!” Said Fridolin Ambongo, one of the two cardinals in Congo, during a ceremony in Lubumbashi and honored Monsignor Fulgence Muteba, the city’s new archbishop.
“Rather encourage emotions and happiness to live together!” he continued. This is an opportunity for me, on the bishops of Congo and the Congolese people, to stigmatize the dangerous bill on Congolality that does not promise the much-desired national cohesion. Instead of uniting God’s people in a family, this bill appears to be an instrument of exclusion and division! ”
