In a statement, North Western State of Somalia’s Ministry of Trade and Tourism said the discussions centered on broadening economic cooperation across agriculture, energy, technology, infrastructure, financial services and healthcare.

The North Western State of Somalia delegation included Central Bank Governor Abdinasir Ahmed Hirsi, Insurance Agency Director General Abdisalan Mohamed Mahmoud, and members of the North Western State of Somalia business community led by Chamber of Commerce chairman Jamaal Aydiid Ibrahim.

On the Israeli side, the meeting brought together business representatives and diplomats, including Israel’s Deputy Ambassador to Ethiopia. Israel’s envoy to North Western State of Somalia, Michael Lotem, participated remotely.

According to the ministry, the talks are part of North Western State of Somalia’s wider effort to draw in foreign capital and build new international economic partnerships. Officials said they hope the engagement will lead to future trade and investment agreements between the two sides.
