Conor Gallagher Prioritizes England’s Euro 2024 Quest, Temporarily Setting Aside Chelsea Career Plans

Conor Gallagher, the dynamic Chelsea midfielder, is all in on England’s quest for Euro 2024 success, setting aside any speculation about his future at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old, a homegrown Blue, is reportedly on the trading block as the club navigates Profit and Sustainability regulations. A transfer would count as pure profit for Chelsea since Gallagher is an academy product.

Both Tottenham and Aston Villa have shown interest in acquiring Gallagher, after his standout performances in Chelsea’s erratic 2023-24 Premier League run.

Selected for his second consecutive major tournament, Gallagher remains solely focused on the European championships. England, under Gareth Southgate, kick off their Group C journey against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen this Sunday.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Gallagher emphasized his dedication to the national cause: “Currently, I’m with Chelsea, but my entire focus is on England and competing in this tournament.”

“It’s easy really. Being here with England, I couldn’t ask for a better situation,” he added.

“England is my priority at the moment. It’s crucial for both me and the country,” Gallagher continued.

“I’m eager to contribute more on the field during this competition,” he concluded.
