Arnaut Danjuma sets against Villarreal

Bournemouth star Arnaut Danjuma will leave the championship side in the coming days, and the cherries will agree with La Liga outfit Villarreal on a £ 20m transfer to the Dutchman.

The 24-year-old has aroused great interest from the Premier League and around Europe this summer, with the giants Liverpool linked to a potential move for the winger.

But Fabrizio Romano reports that it is Villarreal who have won the race to sign Danjuma, after agreeing a £ 20m fee with Bournemouth. The forward has also reached an agreement on a long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2026 and will fly out to Spain to complete a doctor in the coming hours.

The Bournemouth winger had a fantastic season in England’s second tier last year, scoring 15 goals and scoring seven assists in 33 league games. Despite his heroism, he could not help the cherries recover from the championship and lost in the playoffs to final winner Brentford.

Danjuma had made it clear that he had ambitions to return to the Premier League, which put Bournemouth under pressure to sell his talisman. Liverpool considered a bid for the Dutchman as they began to prepare for a future after front trio Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

However, a move to Anfield never became a reality, and Danjuma’s attention turned to Spain. Villarreal have taken advantage of their recent success to lift the Europa League trophy by splashing £ 20 million on the Bournemouth star, hoping that his arrival will help them compete in the top leagues of La Liga and the Champions League.

The cherries have already moved on with the new season without Danjuma, with the highly ranked winger who has not been selected for either of the first two championships. New coach Scott Parker will aim to take them back to the Premier League this year, after suffering relegation with Fulham last season.
