The Constitutional Court wants to hear Matata Ponyo at all costs about the case of the Bukanga-Lonzo agricultural park, a scandal which, according to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, has made it possible to embezzle tens of millions of dollars.
But the former prime minister refuses to participate in this exercise. Augustin Matata Ponyo perseveres the decision of the Senate Office, who had rejected the waiver of his immunity as senator regarding the Bukanga-Lonzo affair. In addition, he is ill, a victim of poisoning since July, he said. He has to go abroad for treatment on the advice of his doctors.
Letter from the prosecutor And there the justice responds in substance: “Send for questioning and you will have to travel abroad to be treated.” A proposal in a letter from the prosecutor reached the media. But for Matata Ponyo, the DRC as a state governed by the rule of law must respect the movement of an elected senator without any restrictions.
For his part, the former prime minister’s assassin reminds him of his promise, made several weeks ago when he left the Republic of Guinea, where he is a consultant on good governance. He said he returned to Congo to face justice.
