In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Christophe Mboso Nkodia, President of the National Assembly, received representatives of religious communities in Kinshasa on Tuesday, August 17, to expedite the appointment of the future president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

Religious leaders are divided. Negotiations at this stage are blocked and Christophe Mboso is ready to continue the process without them. He wants to move on with the other components and leave the seats reserved for opponents both in the office and in the nomination committee’s plenary vacant until the end of the crisis.
