Somali Government Greenlights Landmark Judiciary Partnership with Turkey

In a gathering of the Somali Council of Ministers in Mogadishu, an agreement regarding judiciary and justice with Turkey was given the green light. Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, leading the meeting, highlighted the goal of the agreement to bolster cooperation in legal affairs. This pact will aid in legal issues, facilitate the extradition of suspects and offenders, and streamline the transfer of individuals imprisoned. Minister of Justice Hassan Moalim Mohamud echoed the sentiments, expressing Somalia’s transition from isolation and willingness to engage in accords globally to enhance its legal framework. Additionally, the cabinet supported a collaboration deal with Pakistan across various sectors, though specifics were not disclosed.
