Somalia and Oman hold talks to strengthen ties and regional cooperation
Mogadishu (AX) — Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali met with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, in Muscat on Saturday for talks aimed at broadening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation in several priority areas.

Mogadishu (AX) — Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali met with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, in Muscat on Saturday for talks aimed at broadening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation in several priority areas.

The discussions, held at the Omani Foreign Ministry headquarters, came during Abdisalam’s official visit to Oman and centered on shared interests spanning diplomacy, development and regional security.
The two ministers also reviewed developments in the Horn of Africa, stressing the importance of coordinated regional and international action to help advance stability and support sustainable growth.
Al Busaidi restated Oman’s backing for Somalia’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and made clear that Muscat does not recognize entities outside the Somali state framework.
Abdisalam, in turn, thanked Oman for its diplomatic outreach and for encouraging dialogue and reconciliation across the region.
Officials from both countries were present at the meeting, which underscored Mogadishu’s continued push to strengthen partnerships with Gulf states and widen its international engagement.
