Strong reaction from the Congolese-Brazzaville authorities to the remarks made by Mrs William Bourdon on our antenna. The founder of the Sherpa Association considered the appointment within the new Congolese government of Denis Christel Sassou-Nguesso, son of President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, to be a kind of “legal protection”.
Congolese Minister of Communications and Government Spokesman Thierry Mungala is responding to Bourdon’s comments. For him, only the career of Denis Christel Sassou-Nguesso is linked to his appointment to the government:
“Minister Denis Christel Sassou-Nguesso has a personal, professional and political background that completely justifies, in addition to the completely absurd considerations of Master Bourdon government appointment. He is a member of a large political party, a deputy … He has at the head of a foundation Perspective for the future set up charity measures that are known to all Congolese … The development of his career is quite logical and his last name has nothing to do with it . The Government of the Republic has always considered that intervention in Congolese-Congolese affairs or pseudo-affairs has no place. And this legal imperialism must one day end. ”
The head of state’s son inherits a portfolio created recently, international cooperation and the promotion of public-private partnerships.
For Thierry Mungala, Me Bourdon and the Sherpa Association are bent on the son of the Congolese president: “We believe that there is, from this lawyer’s side, an almost personal relentlessness, on a completely honorable family and citizens for whom nothing justifies, no one would have been their patronymic, as it is probably a facial fracture on the part of Master Bourdon, nothing justifies this relentlessness ”.
