Sancho ‘honored’ to join the Red Devils

Jadon Sancho has admitted that he feels honored to have become the latest superstar name to write for Manchester United.

The 21-year-old winger ended a year of speculation about his future by finally sealing his £ 72.9m move from Borussia Dortmund on Friday – a move that will make fans drool over what the future will hold.

Speaking to MUTV, Sancho acknowledged that he was equally excited about the move and insisted that the club’s long-term project was too appealing to reject.

“It’s an honor,” he said. “Manchester United grew up and was one of the biggest clubs that everyone knows, and of course there are also all the trophies they have won and there have been many iconic players who have come before me. So I am very happy to wear it this sweater now.

“When I was at Dortmund I just played my football and blocked all the noise and focused on what I and my team had to achieve. Of course when I was at Euro it was when things started to pick up even more and I started to hear that United were interested, and I’m here today.

“It feels very nice. Having the fans by my side is always a great feeling, especially when you come to a new club, because you have to feel comfortable right away and I’m sure the fans will give me that feeling. ”

The hope is that Sancho will settle down soon. He spent time in Manchester earlier in his career and is close friends with the English cohort at Old Trafford, especially Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw.

“I only met Marcus when I was first selected for England,” he continued. “I do not think he was in the first camp, I think he was in the second camp after that, when we played the Czech Republic. I think he and Jesse [Lingard] was in that camp. He and Jesse were obviously together and I just started talking to them and we started hanging out with each other and we’ve been getting closer and closer ever since.

Will just drop this?

“This is my first tournament meeting Luke, for previous camps he was not there. But Luke is a very nice guy and one of my guys to talk to in the locker room.”

Restoring an English backbone to United was an important goal for Ole Gunnar Solskjär, whose mission when he joined the club was to end years of frustration and finally get United back to the top of the Premier League table.

The progress has been clear. United were the second best team in the country last season – a form that clearly aroused Sancho’s interest.

“It’s one of the reasons I came to Manchester, because I can see the development that is going on here and I want to be a part of it, especially because it’s such an iconic club and being a part of it is a kind of dream. sant, “sa Sancho.” I’m sure my family will be proud to be making this big step.
