Denis Bouanga feels the loss to San Jose was a much-needed wake-up call for Los Angeles FC as they gear up to face FC Dallas this Saturday.
LAFC suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Earthquakes on May 5 but have since won all six of their subsequent matches and kept clean sheets in their last five games.
They continued their winning streak with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota United at home, narrowing the gap to Real Salt Lake, who lead the Western Conference by just three points.
Bouanga commended the team’s response, noting that the defeat to San Jose served as a reality check. He emphasized the competitiveness in MLS and the need for constant improvement.
Dallas, currently in 12th place with 13 points, are on a three-game winless run, including a recent 3-1 loss to LA Galaxy.
In terms of standout players, Bouanga and Mateusz Bogusz have been influential for LAFC, with all eight goals in May being either scored or assisted by them. On the other hand, Patrickson Delgado has been a key player for Dallas, scoring in their last three matches.
