New York Bulls eye Celtic forward Patryk Klimala

Celtic striker Patryk Klimala has been linked with a loan move to MLS club New York Red Bulls after struggling to establish himself in Scotland since a transfer from his native Poland in January 2020.

Celtic spent around £ 3.5m on Klimala, who made his senior break at Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok in 2018, but the boy has only made three appearances in 28 appearances in all competitions and has only started three appearances in the Scottish Premier League this season. .

According to The Scottish Sun, the 22-year-old Klimala is a loan target for the New York Red Bulls before the MLS season 2021, which will begin later this month.

It is suggested that Celtic are open to allowing Klimala to leave temporarily to gain more playing time and rediscover the confidence that has been lost in his trouble finding form in Scotland.

Celtic have already done business with the Red Bulls this year and have sold 19-year-old California-born winger Cameron Harper to the New York club last month. Celtic recruited Harper in 2018, which resulted in him rejecting a college scholarship from UCLA, but he only made a first-team appearance.

The current transfer window for MLS opened last month for clubs to do business before the season begins and will be open until June 1.

The dates have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, with MLS seasons usually starting in early March. The first transfer window would normally be open from February to May, but everything has been postponed by one month in 2021 to account for the start of the season being delayed.

The Red Bulls have a desperate need for a goal scorer. They say goodbye to the aging two-time MLS Golden Boot winner Bradley Wright-Phillips 2019 and have so far not been able to replace him.

The club’s top scorer for MLS last season was Brian White on just five goals, while their second highest scorer was home-grown Tom Barlow on just three. Fabio has been recruited on loan from third Brazilian club Oeste, but the Red Bulls are still extremely easy going forward.
