Nathans Evans records ‘Flower of Scotland’ for Euro 2020

Scottish singer-songwriter Nathans Evans with several platinums has recorded an inspiring rendition of ‘Flower of Scotland’ ahead of his country’s huge Euro 2020 collision with England.

The Scots are at their first international tournament in 23 years and the match against England at Wembley has been one of the most anticipated matches in the entire competition since the group was originally made back in November 2019.

Scotland lost their opening match against the Czech Republic as a result of two Patrik Schick goals on an emotional occasion at Hampden Park in front of almost 10,000 fans. But damn hope the nerves have calmed down and against England there is always motivation to cause outrage.

A former postal worker from Airdrie, near Glasgow, Nathan Evans originally gained world fame as a TikTok sensation, covering sea books.

‘Wellerman 220 KID & Billen Ted Remix’ reached # 1 in 10 countries / Nathan Evans

His rendition of the 19th century song “Wellerman” went viral on the platform and “Wellerman 220 KID & Billen Ted Remix” is the UK’s best-selling domestic single to date in 2021.

It went to number one in ten different countries, collected half a billion streams and is this year’s biggest global hit from a British artist. Nathan is even the first Scottish artist to have a # 1 debut single in the UK since 2007. The last was 2007 X-Factor winner Leon Jackson.

Sure, the hairs on the backs of every Scotland fan stand up, Nathan’s rendering is unmistakable in his instantly recognizable voice and style.

The song was originally written in 1967 and was adopted as Scotland’s anthem for international football matches in the 1990s. It is always extra gripping before clashes with England as the lyrics refer to the historic Scottish victory over the English at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
