England predicted start 11 against Germany

England face arch-enemy Germany in the last 16 of Euro 2020, with their clash at Wembley undoubtedly the excellent game of the round.

Gareth Southgate’s side went on to the knockout stages undefeated and despite criticism from many over the team’s style and perceived negativity, they failed to concede a goal.

The victory here for the three lions would open up a huge opportunity to go far in the tournament, with half the draw England is favorable on paper. But Germany must not be underestimated despite their upside-down form, and history says that Joachim Low’s side is always grounded and ready for the big moment.

Selection is always a battlefield and Southgate has a huge job on its hands to choose a winning formula – especially as changes are likely to be likely despite impressive views from Bukayo Saka.

Here are 90 min predicted start 11 for Three Lions.

Jordan Pickford (GK) – Still, in order to recognize a goal in Euro 2020, Pickford has not set foot wrong so far and has more than justified Gareth Southgate’s faith in him.Kyle Walker (RB) – One of Southgate’s older players, Walker has fantastic energy and offers a good outlet on the right side.

John Stones (CB) – Has looked pretty safe so far and excludes any late fitness problems, is a shoo-in starter.Harry Maguire (CB) – Come through 90 minutes unscathed against the Czech Republic and offers another option when playing from the back. Leadership and communication skills will be the key.

Luke Shaw (LB) – A superb Premier League campaign has opened the door for Shaw to become England’s first – left back, further helped by Ben Chilwell’s isolation due to COVID protocol.

Declan Rice (DM) – Has regained possession nicely in midfield, but must be more disciplined and willing to continue the ball where possible.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – Calvin Phillips has started all three of England’s Euro 2020 games so far, but his experience – and return to fitness – of Henderson could be crucial in combating the threats from Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gundogan and co.

Mason Mount (CM) – Has not been able to train with the group due to self-isolation protocols, but Mount’s significance for the side is undeniable. Offers more balance than Jack Grealish, despite the public clamor for the Villa star.

Phil Foden (RW) – Bukayo Saka put a man in the match performance against the Czech Republic, but was brought into the side for a very specific plan. It can stop watching when the super-speaking Foot is recalled.

Harry Kane (ST) – England’s best striker with about a mile, even if you would not believe it considering how he started the competition. Desperately need a goal to start their tournament.

Raheem Sterling (LW) – Made harsh criticism before the tournament but has scored England’s only two goals so far. Has faded during the second half of the games but offers a huge threat when it’s on track.
