Conor Gallagher appears as a loan target

Conor Gallagher has emerged as a target for Leeds with Chelsea keen to send the kid on loan again this season.

England during the 21-year-old secured a temporary transfer to West Brom last season – continued to play 30 Premier League games, including 28 starts for the Baggies – a move that represented his fourth loan in just two years.

The Blues are reluctant to sanction a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge for Gallagher and are also keen to tie him to a new long-term deal in the coming weeks, but with a different loan spell, it looks likely The Athletic report that Leeds has left in their interest in the midfielder.

This is not the first time Marcelo Bielsa has kept an eye on a youngster from Chelsea this summer, while the whites recently announced the signing of the talented Blues academy member Lewis Bate.

Although they have already come into contact with Chelsea due to a move for Gallagher, an agreement is far from complete with Crystal Palace who also hope to secure the midfielder’s services.

As Bielsa continues to run a deal for Gallagher, a player approaching a move to Elland Road this summer is Kristoffer Klaesson.

Leeds have been in contact with the Norwegian kit Valerenga for the past two weeks and The Athletic reports that an agreement is not far off and that the goalkeeper will fly to England to complete medical treatment next week.

Kiko Casilla’s departure for Elche on a season-long loan has recently left Leeds’ goalkeeper department looking out of place, and football director Victor Orta has wasted time addressing the issue after meeting Klaesson shortly after Casilla’s move away from the club was confirmed.

When the talks between Leeds and Valerenga develop well, an agreement will be rubber-stamped after an agreement has been reached after a medicine has been completed and a work permit has been secured.
