Arsenal transfer news: Ben White medically ongoing
Arsenal are on the verge of confirming the signing of Ben White from Brighton, and the defender is undergoing medical treatment this weekend.
The £ 50m deal will be a record sale for Brighton, while making White the third most expensive signing in Arsenal history after future team-mates Nicolas Pepe (£ 72m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£ 56m).

The Daily Mail writes that the deal will be announced in good time with White ending medical treatment after his holiday at the end of Euro 2020.
White was a late call-up to Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad after Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled out with an injury, although he did not play a minute in the tournament as England advanced to the final.
Arsenal have been looking for defensive reinforcements since veteran David Luiz was released, while William Saliba, who signed William Saliba, have been loaned out for the third time and have joined Marseille on a season-long deal.
It’s been a pretty busy window for the Gunners so far. They recently confirmed the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht in a deal worth around £ 15 million, while left-back Nuno Tavares signed from Benfica for just over half of that amount.
Mikel Arteta’s side has also pursued a new goalkeeper, with Sheffield United stopper Aaron Ramsdale subject to various bids. The magazines hold out for 32 million pounds for him, while Mail said that Arsenal’s latest bid was worth up to 26 million pounds, with various additions that helped reach the total amount.
Arsenal have not had the biggest start to the pre-season. In a quick tour of Scotland, they were beaten 2-1 by Hibernian and held to a 2-2 draw with Steven Gerrards Rangers. But they recorded their first pre-season victory on Saturday in a 4-1 training ground victory over Millwall. Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Calum Chambers and Folarin Balogun grabbed the goals.
