The presidents and general secretaries of the 200 political parties arrived pumped up on Thursday, July 22. While some attack the working method of the ministry responsible for reconciliation, others condemn a maneuver to appoint people who have already been identified. It was a disturbance, a party leader even beat almost one of his colleagues.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the various party groups would nominate their representatives. Political parties that do not belong to any group can also nominate representatives. But warn the Minister responsible for reconciliation, at the time of the election, the criteria for competence, experience will be taken into account. Criteria that will also be applied to other parts of Chadian society as the Organizing Committee of the National Dialogue approaches.
However, not all political parties and associations subscribe to the government’s strategy and announce that they will not take part in the preparations for the dialogue until there is sufficient political openness.
