Kebzabo urges opposition candidates to

The presidential election will take place on April 11. Idriss Déby Itno is running for a 6th term. Opponent Saleh Kebzabo reiterated during a press conference on Friday, March 19, that he was not a candidate for this election and also called on the other candidates to resign. A call to which the ruling party immediately responded.

Saleh Kebzabo called for a boycott of the election. The president of UNDR also announced that he would participate this Saturday in the march organized to prevent the holding of this vote, a demonstration banned by the Interior Ministry.

On the occasion of Friday’s press conference, Saleh Kebzabo also called on other opposition candidates to withdraw from the race. Like him, Ngarlejy Yorongar and Théophile Bongoro did.

Today we are three officially announcing our withdrawal and we maintain our position. And we also believe that the other candidates, if they really are opposition candidates, should take the same position. Namely, not to run for this election, where we already know all the goals. It’s still a scam …

How does the government react to this appeal launched to opposition candidates by Saleh Kebzabo? Jean-Bernard Padaré, spokesman for MPS and candidate Idriss Déby’s election campaign, believes this is a “non-event”.

The obligation to present oneself is an individual belief, everyone knows why they stand for the voice of our fellow citizens. In any case, we think it’s time for Mr. Kebzabo to retire and go to rest. Because I think it’s no longer audible. And without wanting to offend him, it gets a little ridiculous, you have to be a little serious.
