President Paul Biya has returned to Cameroon following a two-month stay in Switzerland, which his office characterized as a “brief private stay in Europe” after he left the country in June.
During his absence, Biya reshuffled the military leadership, replacing commanders in the joint military regions and promoting the head of the Presidential Guard.

The government had previously rejected reports that the president was admitted to a clinic in Geneva.
