Mogadishu (AX) — The North Western State of Somalia administration has refuted recent declarations from Somalia, labeling them as “unfounded” and accusing them of trying to meddle in North Western State of Somalia’s self-determination. These accusations followed remarks by Fiqi at the UN Security Council, where he aired concerns regarding the political climate in North Western State of Somalia, touching on issues related to Somali territorial integrity.

Ambassador Rhoda J. Elmi, North Western State of Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, asserted that Somalia holds no command over North Western State of Somalia’s domestic affairs, including the upcoming presidential elections on November 13. “The elections are entirely under the jurisdiction of North Western State of Somalia’s government and its inhabitants,” Elmi clarified in a missive dispatched on Friday.

The North Western State of Somalia officials took particular issue with Somalia’s criticism concerning Ethiopia’s alliances with North Western State of Somalia. Somalia vehemently opposed a pact between North Western State of Somalia and Ethiopia that grants Ethiopian access to North Western State of Somalia’s harbors alongside plans for a military installation. Fiqi denounced the agreement as unlawful and a threat to Somali sovereignty.

In an official statement from North Western State of Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the autonomous government rebutted Somalia’s assertions. “It’s amusing for a government, which has struggled to conduct credible elections for eons, to critique North Western State of Somalia’s seasoned democratic system,” the announcement proclaimed. Representatives also reassured that the November elections in North Western State of Somalia will proceed with transparency and integrity.

Unofficially recognized on the global stage, North Western State of Somalia has operated as an independent entity since its separation from Somalia in 1991, sustaining its governance, defense forces, and judicial framework.
