When Marcus Rashford was able to return to Man Utd after injury

Marcus Rashford is making good progress in his recovery after shoulder surgery and may even be back in Manchester United training at the end of August.

Despite scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions last season, the 23-year-old was unable to perform 100% due to an ongoing shoulder problem that plagued him throughout the year.

Rashford delayed the operation until the summer, knowing that an operation would exclude him from England’s Euro 2020 campaign, so he finally went under the knife in early August.

Rashford was originally tipped to miss about three months of action, but an update from The Sun states that he could return to training at the end of August – much earlier than expected.

He will then work to build up his fitness for a Premier League return and may even be able to target a September return to action.

Rashdord undergoes rehabilitation meetings twice a week with United’s medical team and is already back in the gym. It is said that he has used the water treadmill, focused on resistance training and builds up his strength through squat exercises.

A brace is still worn to support his shoulder, and it’s all part of the post – surgery rehabilitation program outlined for Rashford. Should his recovery continue to go well, the winger may sign a return against Everton at Old Trafford on October 2, if September comes a little too early.

Thanks for all the luck. I had surgery on Friday morning and everything went very well. A little sore but otherwise I feel good. Hope you all have a good day! ♥ ️ pic.twitter.com/cUZQpS0wIi

When Rashford returns, he will join an exciting United front line that flourished on the opening day of the season against Leeds. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes stole the show, while Jadon Sancho made his competitive debut in a 5-1 battle at Old Trafford.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær also has Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani at his disposal and offers an insight into the increased strength in depth United has to absorb this season.
