Mbappe decides to stay during the 2021/22 season

Kylian Mbappe has decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, which will probably delay any transfer to Real Madrid until next summer.

Mbappe is in the final year of his PSG contract and the club’s failure to agree on a new deal with the 2018 World Cup winner would make him available as a free agent, with Real likely to be ready and waiting to receive him after years of mutual admiration.

Mbappe leaving PSG next summer is still a very real possibility, but at the moment he is staying.

The information is credited to the Spanish radio network Cadena SER from a source in the PSG locker room. It is also believed that sports director Leonardo has informed head coach Mauricio Pochettino that Mbappe will be available for election this season.

Staying will give the 22-year-old the opportunity to play with Lionel Messi as part of a terrible attacking series together with existing star Neymar.

At Messi’s revelation last week, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was clear in his opinion on the issue when he said that there is now no excuse for Mbappe not to stay in Paris.

“I think everyone knows what Kylian’s future is: he is Paris. He has said that he wanted a competition team – there is no excuse to do anything else now, the club manager explained.

Mbappe has scored 133 goals in 173 games for PSG since coming from Monaco, originally loaned out, in 2017 and became the second most expensive player in history. Despite huge domestic success in France, the Champions League is still the trophy that avoids Mbappe and PSG, although Messi has already expressed his desire to win it for the club.

“My goal and my dream is to win the Champions League once again. I think we have the team to do this, “said the six-time Ballon d’Or winner in his revelation.
