PSG fans are protesting against the club’s move for Paul Pogba

Fans of Paris Saint-Germain have hung banners outside the club’s training ground and Parc des Princes, protesting against the tough pursuit of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

It was recently revealed that the French international’s time at Old Trafford may end with the Red Devils ready to cut ties with the Premier League’s most expensive signing ever, after rejecting their latest bumper contract.

With just one year left on their current deal, United risk losing him for free next summer if an agreement cannot be reached – a scenario they obviously desperately want to avoid.

News of Pogba’s sudden availability has changed interest in some of Europe’s best clubs, but with long-standing fans like Real Madrid likely unable to put together an adequate offer – PSG have emerged as the mainstay of securing his signature.

United have already admitted they will suffer a heavy loss of the £ 89 million they pulled out of Pogba in 2016 and despite their £ 50m valuation of the World Cup winner, Les Parisiens are ready to test their determination with a bid of £ 45m .

It’s fair to say that the news has gone down like a lead balloon with some in Paris, where RMC Sport reports that PSG fans have draped banners around the city – including outside the Parc des Princes and the club’s training ground – protesting against Pogba’s eventual arrival.

The banners show the wording: ‘Pogba, you should listen to your mother, she does not want you here, nor do we’. Hardly Banksy stuff but really effective.

Whether the club’s hierarchy chooses to move for Pogba from banners on the back remains to be seen, but it is still fair to say that not everyone in Paris agrees with those who created the above-mentioned “work of art”.

Summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum has admitted that he would love for his new club to strike a deal for the Manchester United midfielder, claiming that there is no player in the world who does not want to play with the Frenchman who gets the chance.
