Predicted Belgium line-up against Finland

Belgium has already sealed a place in the knockout stages of Euro 2020 and now wants to cement the top spot in its group.

To do so, they need at least one point against a Finnish side chasing their own place in the next round, and while it may not be too easy, it’s definitely the kind of game where Roberto Martinez can hand out some rests.

This is how the Belgian boss should set up.

Thibaut Courtois (GK) – Courtois will expect to add another clean sheet to his CV here, but he must be alert to an exciting Finnish forward line.

Thomas Vermaelen (CB) – With just 14 minutes under his belt so far, expect to see Vermaelen pick up some valuable playing time before the knockout.

Dedryck Boyata (CB) – Boyata was out in the Denmark game so will now be ready to go back and give older players like Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld some well-deserved rest.

Jason Denayer (CB) – Two games in four days is not perfect for Denayer, but he manages it better than some of his more experienced teammates.

Thomas Meunier (RM) – With Timothy Castagne out in the foreseeable future, Meunier Martinez is the only real option on the right back, but he is good enough to be a start in any case.

Axel Witsel (CM) – Witsel made his long-awaited return from an Achilles injury against Denmark and now gets the chance to get a few more minutes.

Dennis Praet (CM) – Praet has not seen many minutes yet, but here is his chance to come in and give Leicester teammate Youri Tielemans a break.

Yannick Carrasco (LM) – With Thorgan Hazard injured, the left-back should go to Carrasco, who has previously impressed on that role for both club and country.

Eden Hazard (AM) – We have seen glimpses of the real danger and he seems to be slowly finding his feet this summer. More minutes just helps his recovery.

Kevin De Bruyne (AM) – He drove the show against Denmark, and De Bruyne now needs his own share of minutes to prepare for the knockout stages.

Romelu Lukaku (ST) – Lukaku should probably rest here, but he will be desperate for every chance to increase his numbers in the quest for the Golden Boot award.
