At the ceremony, Barre подчеркнул that education sits at the heart of Somalia’s long-term recovery, describing it as a major force behind economic growth and national stability. He said the government is pressing ahead with reforms designed to strengthen learning institutions and prepare the sector for the country’s future needs.
“A quality curriculum is the foundation of education, and this center will play a vital role in shaping the knowledge of future generations,” he said.
Once completed, the facility is expected to serve as a central place for developing and revising national curricula, with the aim of keeping education standards in step with both global developments and domestic priorities. Officials said it will also improve coordination among policymakers, educators and institutions.
According to the Ministry of education, the project forms part of wider government efforts to expand social services and build a more skilled workforce that can take advantage of emerging economic opportunities.
Barre also renewed the government’s campaign to recover public assets, calling on citizens living in state-owned properties to leave so those buildings can be used properly to provide essential services.
The initiative underscores Somalia’s continuing effort to rebuild an education system shaped by decades of conflict, as authorities work to improve access, quality and relevance across the sector.
