Quran Instructor Detained in Mogadishu for Suspected Strangling of 17-Year-Old Girl
Mogadishu (AX)—A Quran instructor has been nabbed in Mogadishu, accused of choking a 17-year-old girl in the Warta Nabada district, as stated by the police after a security sweep.
The suspect, known as Abdiazis Osman Mohamed Saddam, is now in police custody facing charges for the brutal killing of Ma’ido Mohamed Ahmed, a young girl whose corpse bore distressing marks of abuse.
Banadir regional law enforcement officers were responsible for the arrest. They’re actively conducting the investigation, and it’s anticipated that the suspect will stand trial in the near future.
“The Warta-Nabada district authorities have detained Abdiazis Osman Mohamed, who allegedly strangled Ma’ido Mohamed Ahmed,” announced the Banadir police through an official statement. “The probe is ongoing, and the matter will be handed to the appropriate judicial body.”
Relatives of the deceased, particularly her sister, are calling for justice, stating that her body showed clear signs of maltreatment.
There’s chatter that the accused might have harbored unrequited emotions for the victim, although this notion hasn’t been officially addressed by the family.
